• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I've just blitzed the shop...

Not sure if 'blitzed' is the correct word, but, before starting my next job and in prep of winter, I had to move a few things, which then snowballed into moving other stuff to put other other stuff there... and so it went on a bit. My shop isn't huge, so space is always a bit challenging and the shop has evolved a lot since I moved in four years ago.

The courtyard consists of several small businesses & crafts including, an upholster, a jam/chutney maker, a jewellery designer & maker, a dog groomer, a picture framer, a computer engineer, a felt sculptor, a Harley Davidson showroom, an equestrian, a furniture wealer-dealer, an accountant, a marketer and me. I think that's it :eusa-think:

Here's a shot looking into the corner of Wood Monkey Workshop :D

A bit closer.

Now approaching the entrance door.

And over the threshold.
I spend a lot of my time sat in that chair... drinking tea and... thinking 8-)

Moving round a bit and looking up into the shop. The Rayburn is about to come into its own again - time of year. The middle bench is over 14' long and it's a great bench to work on.

Moving round more and there is another vice bench surrounded by hand tools and clamps etc... There's also my main chop saw or crosscut jobby. I have a larger one under the middle bench and a smaller one under the smaller bench - greedy bugger eh. These are for when working on site.

Looking back to the floor assembly area and Merlin the Wizard.

The other side of the middle bench is a narrow bench with a small morticer (I use it as a pillar drill only) and bench grinder at the top end. This side also takes me to the 'Crow's Nest' above - or drawing room.

Looking on the other side again. There are the two bays almost full of softwoods, hardwoods and composite material ready for the start of the cold season - whole reason for today's move-about.

Smaller vice bench.

I often wonder about using this end of the roof space for storage.

Here's the Crow's Nest. I zip up the front flaps when I'm not up there - saves the dust making its way in.

Standing on the middle bench, on a tall set of stepladders looking in over the guard. The drawing board.

And a sneeky view at the top of the hatch.

All the benches are stacked with stuff below them.

I do believe that's it.

Looks a great space to work in Paul & I imagine that Rayburn will keep you plenty warm 8-)

I've been having a sort out in mine the last few evenings trying to maximise space before starting on 11 internal doors, I've even managed to get the thicknesser rewired tonight it needed a longer lead & new 32amp plug, now that's done I won't be so restricted in its use.

A great show, Paul.

I'm 100% with you on your central bench. Seriously thinking about ditching my traditional workbench.

I can smell the bacon frying on the raeburn from here. I'm gonna make it one day!

I like the offcut storage bins

My 'shop is completely out of bounds for the next month...I daren't even contemplate setting foot inside, though I might be tempted to do some small stuff later on from the spiny side just to show willing, but lifting anything heavy at the moment is definitely 'out' - Rob

Thanks chaps 8-)

Whenever you're ready Andy, although I might need some notice so I can go and find me a Dorset Hog in the woods ;)

Won't be long Rob and you'll soon be back in your shop casting the magic. 8-)
