Have been on another site for a few years and now here.
Living on a small property ( 8 acres ) on the mid north coast of NSW - now retired and have a bit more time to indulge in the workshop.
Love working in wood, stainless steel and brass

Yes, we all love some pics.
Recently I have had to make some modifications to "whirrling bowls"
I have made a few of these over the past years, but the accuracy of a Shaublin mill, created a problem.
On the other site, I posted a thread under the title of " Twisted " which explains.
If there is any interest I will "spin" the yarn on this site _ plenty of pics.

Every saw has teeth - but I seem to be missing a few lately.
I guess Toothless is not more of a mouth full than sawtooth !

If you go to UKWorkshop you will find my post entitled " Twisted ", That will give a full picture of the history of our passion for fibre processing. Includes spinning wheels, Skein and ball winder, whirling bowls and the resultant garments from twined knitting with ultra fine spun suri alpaca
These "devices" allow me to indulge in my love for combining metal and wood
The recent modifications to the whirling bowls are a result of the Shaublin mill being so accurate, there is almost zero resistance to each bowl spinning - so when the locking pin is removed and the arm swung, tye bowls also spin. I am inserting a static brake on the bowls to prevent this problem

Ah, right. The nearest I've been to there is Port Macquarie, although I've also been to Brisbane (and Cairns). I remember it being pretty humid in Port Macquarie, and the further north you go, the more humid it gets.

I am not sure I understand the explanations but the combination of metal and wood looks very nice.

These windows use spiral springs ( you can see this if you expand the pic. They are the black "rods" showing on the sides.
The windows in our lounge room are conventional counter weights.
