• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Does anyone know if the Makita saw track clamps fit the Festool tracks? I'm inclined to think that they do, but it would be handy to hear from someone who has used the two interchangeably. I'm buying a sink from a company that also sells the clamps, and whilst I've never had any problems with tracks slipping, they do seem to be a good belt-and-braces sort of approach. I'm inclined to just add them to my basket, and for once in France, they are not at a price that necessitates me selling a kidney.
Any experiences?

I have Festool track & Makita screw clamps They are currently not in the same location, so i can’t double check, but I think that the bars on the Makita clamps were just a smidge fat for the Festool track. However, I’d recommend the Axminster quick track clamps as a better cheaper option anyway for track use; you really don’t need much clamping force.

Of course they’re out of stock

Amazon reviews say the Makitas are compatible with Festool so my clamps or my memory might be aberrant.

Here is an ancient thread on the Festool Owners Group that indicates the Makita clamps will work with the Festool tracks with minor filing.

Amazingly enough the reference in the 13 year old post is still valid and is the same set of clamps you referenced:

They should fit.
The only significant difference between the two tracks is the extra flange right at the back (on top) for Makita's anti-tip feature. The slot underneath is, I think identical between the two brands, both in dimensions and position.

All my rails are Makita, but oddly, when I wanted clamps, the Festool ones (Acme thread version) were significantly cheaper. So I got those, and they fit pretty snugly, implying the Makita ones shouldn't be oversize in Festool rails.
