• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Made four a few days ago and one this morning. Used left over Cherry which had been resawn and planed for utensil and kitchen accessories. Don't know what the dark wood is.1000002648.jpg1000002649.jpg1000002650.jpg1000002652.jpg

Are you putting anything under the coasters, pads etc. We are always short on coasters they should be very handy. Wipe on Poly? never knew that existed.

I will, ran out of stock. I have used the wipe on poly for a donkey's age. Gloss or satin is available, you must have it over there.

I found some 1mm thick cork sheets to stick on the base of mine.
Cork is the best option unfortunately the only place to get it that thin is at a craft store which is an hours drive. Which I always forget to do when I'm in that city.

I've seen loads of US and Canada youtube videos where they talk about wipe on poly being readily available in diy shops, but I've never seen it in our B&Q, Wickes, Screwfix etc.

The vast majority of wipe-on poly is just normal oil-based poly thinned down with white spirits - or so the American YouTubers tell me. It's functionally almost identical to the various commercial Danish Oils, or to Mike's Magic Mix.
