• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

New Project

Did not realize that I have had no updates on this build but it did stall for a while as I had to make some Christmas presents and then when I did get back onto the build I made a right mess up of the cylinders which I am now awaiting some replacements of.
In the mean time I have been working on a Farm Boy hit and miss engine and have nearly completed the front frame of.

Some very interesting set ups to get this far

Outstanding finish on that intricate form Derek, excellent machining setup and cutter control to get such smooth blending of curves.

Thank you Chas. I have not posted much lately so need to catch up.

I have learnt so much in this piece not how to set up for the different cuts and forms. It takes me a long time as I am double checking every measurement except one which I messed up but to not cause any problems so have left it and it will not notice in the end engine build thankfully.

Guess what, I have returned to this build of a Steam loco Rob Roy. Just started making some of the many linkages. I will update as more are made.

As you can see, I have labelled them so as not to mix up parts and names for when I start to assemble them

Good to see you picking this project up again, the long break should provide a new stimulus once you have got your head round the 'to do' list for what must seem a never ending endeavour.

Awaiting some more metal for it
I still need to run the farm boy at the moment it is in a display case. At the wife's request so it makes it easier to dust and not break anything on it.
