Hi, I'm building a shed in the garden and just wanted some advice on a couple of things please. I'm pretty much going with Mike's workshop design. We will use it as a shed but I also want it to be capable to used as something else later on, even though it is a small space.
I started it a few years ago and have since been quite busy, so got no further than pouring the slab, and typically now I'm ready to crack on again, I can't see the photos on Mike's thread which would have helped with the details a lot more.
I could do with a bit more detail of the plinth design please, I have done the bricks and blocks so now ready to order some timber and other bits. I have attached a rudimentary drawing to see if I've got it right so please correct me if I'm wrong. I've spent the last few years thinking about getting it started so I have definitely over thought it now rather than getting on with it, so I just want to clarify some details.
From the bottom up:

Please don't judge me on the brick work, I didn't really enjoy doing it so was glad to get it finished. The slab ended up being a bit rough on the edges as well but most if will disappear with a 150mm stone boarder. Also ignore the armoured cable as well, that will be buried at some point.
With it being so close to the fence it will have to stay within the 2.5m height rule. For the roof I was thinking of laying a 6 x 2 (or 2 bolted together) down the centre of the walls, like a ridge, and then just using the 80mm insulated roof panels for the roof. The pitch will be quite shallow so I will need to make some sort of gable ends for the cladding and battens to attach to, but haven't worked that bit out yet. Do I need to tie the walls to the ridge at all so the walls don't get pushed out, it wasn't something I really thought about until someone I know mentioned it.
There are some other details I'll need to figure out at some point, like guttering and details above the door. I'll maybe put a window in as well so will need to look that up, but for now I need to get on with it, I can't get in the garage to make anything!
Any photo's of other peoples previous builds would be a massive help for me. Thank you in advance.

From the bottom up:
- Brick and block
- Thin layer of mortar to help level off any inconsistencies in the plinth
- Red line is the DPC - This is where I'm a bit confused, Does it matter how far up it goes behind the membrane? Travis Perkins shows a 450mm wide roll so enough to wrap up under the membrane, but do I also need to run it down the inside face of the plinth as well?
- Hashed blue line is some stainless straps that are already screwed to the base and mortared in under the blocks
- Yellow line is insect mesh roll. Not sure how to attach it, especially at the bottom without going through the DPC?
- Solid blue line is breather membrane
- 25mm battens and the wedges at the bottom to kick out the bottom cladding board
- 4 x 2 sole plate will have the straps screwed to it to hold it down. I remember seeing on someones post somewhere using the router to cut out shallow slots in the sole plate to let the straps sit flush with the top of the timber.
- Angled arris - should this be the same height as the sole plate timber or does it matter? And how far to the edge of the plinth does it need to be, all the way to the edge to let water run off the brick and not on top of them?
- Timber frame will be 4 x 2 and lined with 11mm osb on the inside.
