• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

After my absolutely abysmal Bosch jigsaw completely failing to be able to hold a blade for more than 2 seconds before I managed to finish boarding out my loft I decided to invest once and for good in a decent one.

Found this brand new on eBay, £50 below RRP so bit the bullet. Expensive for a fairly agricultural tool but would have made the loft job 10 times easier and is handy for ripping stuff down easier than humping it onto the band or table saws and easier to handle than the TS75.



One of the best bits...the new (well new to me as I've not used eBay for a while) the click and collect option allowing me to have it delivered to my local Argos which I go past on my way home from the station. This now means I can send or receive good without having to wait in or potentially miss and have to arrange redelivery of couriers items. [emoji2]

Small pleasures... ;)

Or more importantly lets one smuggle any new purchases into the workshop past any watchful eyes ;)
 
On a similar note, this has surprised me. During the course of my shed build, I have purchased a hand circular saw, a compound mitre saw, an angle grinder and a few other tools. Most of which have been traipsed in and out if the utility room as I currently have no shed. This hasn't even generated comment from the Oracle, and it worries me on two fronts. Firstly that she is saving it up for some denouement, and also a self reflection that she is probably spending comparable amounts on something female orientated that I am oblivious to. Both are quite troubling..... :?

Do all Festools operate at 110v? I presume you've got a transformer?
 
No Mike they come in both flavours. Yes I have a transformer and why I bought this, and probably why it was cheaper than normal.

Yeah I picked a lovely 1/2" Makita router a few years ago for a song, for the same reason.
 
I suppose most of the stuff we have bought, over the years, happened that way, especially DIY tools. Buying tools for a specific need.
The problem comes in storing them afterwards - then you need a shed [emoji3]

Very nice too Sir!

This new 'click & collect' option is very good. I used it the other week to pick up a couple of memory sticks - no hassle. 8-)
