• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

just put some rubbish in the wheel bin, and noticed a new vine growing.

very quick google, and it looks a bit like a grape vine .

anyone can say yay or nay ? or what it might be ?
I'll have to find where it's growing from and see if I can pot it.





 
Does look 'grapeish'.

Dig it up, plant it in a suitable place, plan on building a proper vine trellace.
Then start Googling for wine making equipment! 8-)

I've got the wine making stuff too :-)

and it will be growing between the pavers (old council type) , but I need to clear what's on top of it to see if I can dig it. or I could try some cuttings ?
 
In my experience vines grow well from green and brown cuttings, but I think brown is best.

Here's my grape one:

Mines about 50yrs old and produces small black grapes - not very nice but the birds like them.
Very prolific and has to be kept under control!

How did it get there. Answer birds poo seeds all over the place.

This year's growth is green and 'soft'. Last year's growth is brown and 'hard'. I think.

I found brown cuttings took easily.

You are quite right about the brown Malc, it is similar to growing shrubs from cuttings - brown/old growth.
