• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Rant

if you want to see what labour government can do just look at wales wasting money left right and centre 120 million on a consultation for improved traffic flow around newport which was then shelved , 50 million to cardiff airport which is privately owned for new radar , the 20mph speed limit 35 million roads dont get repaired but our local council has 9 million to pour into a country park the jewel of neath if i was younger theres no hope for the younger generation

AJB, i’ve a person in my circle who was involved in buying properties under the CPO’s for HS2, the gov paid generously for the properties, then said the owners could stay there as tenants until such time as the property was needed, at which point all the requirements for rented property kicked in, same person was then engaged to arrange for the properties to ne bought up to the reqired standard, primarily electrical safety and energy efficiency, some places have had bery substantial amounts spent on them. Then when part of the HS2 was cancelled the person was then again engaged again , to sell the properties back to the previous owners, now tenants , the properties are now effectively valued as being without vacant possession so worth way under what was paid let alone include what’s been spent on them.
There are a good numbers of very content householders no longer struggling in cold draughty piles with flickering lights, the stresses of possibly losing their home often little more than a distant bad dream.
The overall losses are expected to run into many 10’s of millions.
The person involved is now a valued friend to several homeowners they’ve dealt with for several years in this process.

Probably not so much a negative day, but pondering some of the likely looming consequences of the nations current path , which as they’re both inconvenient and awkward are papered over by our leaders. Rather expect the resolution will be akin to Gandalf casting mystic runes over the nations accounts, Catweasel had been first choice but he’d used up his bag of magic under the last government.
