Nordic Pine
This is from our dining table. I made it some 40 years ago as one my first woodworking projects. The wood is butternut (Juglans cinerea) with butternut and walnut keys. No "before" pictures but it had many scratches and coffee cup rings and such. I've refinished it a couple of times before over the years. The most recent finish was Osmo. Sanded that all off and it now has one coat of a commercial tung oil/linseed oil/drier and solvents called Waterlox. Dries in one day. It will get three or more coats. The blotchiness is actually chatoyance.
