• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

How is this possible I hear you ask? `~The nozzle is too big to go in the hole. The trigger handle is black and not green. B7 is is written on the handle instead of E10. So how on earth is it possible to put 2l of the stuff into the car before realising? Fortunately the tank was quarter full at the time and was immediately topped up to max 55l with petrol. Online info suggests such a small quantity of diesel in a full tank of petrol shouldn't cause a problem. Have used at least a quarter tank since the incident with no noticeable issues.

Just read my sig line below.

I caught myself doing the reverse once on the way to work and in a hurry - I caught myself in time, finished filling with diesel, and it turns out passing a small percentage of petrol through a diesel engine is a good thing to do.

Many years ago when I was but a slip of a lad, I witnessed the office banter following the transport manager running out of fuel on the motorway, needing the RAC to tow him off. He had a can of unleaded placed on his desk the next day and numerous other "unmentionables" too. He categorically stated that ALL company vehicles ran on unleaded and we should keep them filled.
A couple of weeks later, we played 5-a-side after work and my gaffer dislocated his knee. Off to the local hospital he went and left me (18yrs old at the time) with his Golf GTi 16V company car. Drove it home, and realised it needed refuelling the next morning. Got to the Petrol Station and promptly put a tank of unleaded in the car that, unbeknownst to me, normally ran on 4* leaded petrol.
By the time i got to the office it was in a state and the normally FAF GTi could manage about 30mph. So 2 days and £600 worth of repairs later we got it back. Never lived that one down :-) Fortunately, the lease company paid for the repairs.

When I put the nozzle in the hole, I physically touch a pointed finger to the diesel logo on the nozzle and then the one on the logo on the filler flap on the car, before I start to squeeze the nozzle.
Left over safety procedure from my nuclear industry days.

That’s a good way of ensuring it’s correct, trouble over here is a lot of the cars don’t have any indication of what to put in there, problem with a rental car recently, we were in a hurry, sounded more like a diesel couldn’t see any spark plug leads but all cars in the States are petrol. Rang up the helpline- what a total waste of time he was lol. So we pulled into the airport rental on fumes!
