• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Whilst visiting Snowdonia (apologies to the Welsh) last Autumn, our daughter bought my wife and I a box of fudge which some nice pictures of Snowdonia on it. The size of the box was 9 inches by 6 inches. Opening the box, the packet inside measured 6 inches by 4 inches, i.e. less than half the size of the box, and contained a total of about 25 small pieces of fudge. Further inspection of the box revealed that the fudge wasn’t even locally made. Although the “Kitchen” was in Devon, the fudge itself was made in the EU. It looks as if the boxes are generic and you can stick any postcard you like on it to make it seem as if it’s a local product. Why, when it's presumably not hard to find fudge makers in the UK, do you import it from the EU - cheaper presumably.

If you have ever visited Niagara Falls, for at least 40 years that I know of, the trinket shops (many) mostly sell only made in China stuff.

I k ow what you mean - on a recent visit to Scarborough I was appalled to find that all the Scarborough rock was actually made in Filey!

I remember years ago buying genuine Turkish delight labelled Made By Hadji Bey's Turkish Emporium, Dublin.

Rodda's Cornish Clotted Cream is made a couple of miles from me - I remember being served it by Air New Zealand flying out of Auckland.

We were shocked when we visited to find a mini Vegas next to it. The falls were impressive but what was built behind definitely wasn't imo.
Niagra village ( on - the - lake ) made up for it though, absolutely beautiful. That was 9 or 10 years ago so will have changed by now I expect.

From what I remember from the mid 80's in Niagara On The Lake , the shops along the Niagara Parkway were chock full of Christmas stuff year round. But yes it is a lovely village.
