• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Common here for trailer owners to build a post and beam structure to protect their trailers. Is it common your way?1000012419.jpg

And in some places, Local Authority planning permission would be required and may not even be granted.

I used to live in an old Schoolhouse 1750’s and I repurposed the toilet block by raising the roof and winching my Caravan up a slope and into the building, gable end had a hinged panel, but never did get round to fitting doors, the children were still small and there were much better things to be done!
I’ve seen a few like that Scott on my travels in N Carolina this week. Not sure why I haven’t seen them around in Pennsylvania or Massachusetts, maybe it’s a southern thing? But you certainly aren’t in the South lol.

A few years ago I was lined up to build a storage barn for a camper van and cars, we acquired planning permission, then the client decided to up sticks and move permanently to Spain:

For those of us who do have the land (apart from farmers not many do) and want such a structure it would be an uphill battle to get permission to build it. Most people I know who wanted this have not managed to get the permission needed, and many others haven't even tried. I know of someone who wanted to build something like this in a spot that no one would even be able to see without getting on their land. Still they did not get permission. Bonkers...

In the towns this wouldn't be allowed but the rural areas there is no problem with obtaining a building permit. And your prooerty tax will increase.

This houses my trailer at the minute Not the type of trailer I think you mean Duke which we call a caravan. It's about 6m x 3m, very handy for doing jobs outside the workshop when the weather is poor. The front rolls up for access and sides are removeable.

IMG_3004.JPGMy wife hates it. :ROFLMAO:

Lons, your type of shelter is very popular here. Rather inexpensive and somewhat easy to assemble.
Fits right in with your landscaping.:giggle:

Probably because I bought it from Costco many years ago. It's a US make.

My wife wouldn't agree with your last sentence. I said it's temporary but of course didn't put an actual time limit on that. ;) :ROFLMAO: She'll get used to it.

Knowing Mrs Lons sort of well enough, please may be I be a fly on the wall, when she challenges your definition of "temporary"? 😎

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Of course Sam, I'll give you a shout, might need a referee.
I'm pretty safe though as her memory isn't as good as it was. ;)
