37° here today, 38-40° forecasted for tomorrow.
More seriously, it's been 18 days since it rained, the garden is already like concrete and now these temperatures.

Hot and humid again today but I have to admit the 'perversity' of having an air conditioner powered by the solar panels does appeal to me.
When I get too hot in the workshop ( 2 x 3hp motors running planing timber) I can cool off using the A/C in the lounge.

Well by the end of play yesterday the workshop temperature was up to 21 1/2 C, as I stepped outside into a wall of heat I figured all the work building the shop had been worthwhile, I fetched a cold one from the house fridge & went back in the shop :lol:

That is pretty impressive after two consecutive stinking hot days Doug.
Your shop must be not only very well insulated but pretty air tight too!
Presumably minimal solar load from windows too? Facing north?

My new shed is staying pretty cool too but is under a tree giving some shade - will have to measure it.

It is pretty air tight Bob, I did that & insulated it well as I put central heating in & I didn't want to be wasting gas.
As for natural light I have a south facing Velux in the roof that has an insulated cover so on really hot days I leave the cover in place & use the second option for natural light, the double glazed patio doors that sit behind the main doors, these face north so still no noticeable solar gain even when both main doors are open.

I have one glass South-facing wall. The workshop temperature lags the outside world by a day but is now around 28 degrees and because it's well insulated, it stays that way for a day or two.

My workshop got to an unpleasant 35 on Tuesday and is fairly well insulated/airtight such that it was still 29 C this morning well before the sun broke through the cloud.

I was digging away in my foundations yesterday, just the other side of a bit of Celotex acting as a temporary wall to the kitchen, when I heard a good noise, and a crash against the Celotex, from the other side. I was alone, and the pooch was in the garden (it couldn't have been her), so I thought I ought to go and see what was what. Well......

There was a spray of wine all over the floor and up the (Celotex) wall, where a bottle of Prosecco had burst open in the wine rack. I presume the heat had got to it, and it had blown it's cork out. I sponged it up off the floor, squeezed the sponge out into a funnel and back into the bottle, whacked the cork back in, put the bottle back on the rack, and went back to work.

I only made one little bit of that story up. The rest is true.

I was having some hospital treatment on Tuesday which makes you very susceptible to cold air, food, drinks or touching cold things - so I had to sit for 3hrs in a sweltering hot room with the fans and A/C switched away from me - I finished up like a wet rag!!
Going home in the car which was registering 32C and couldn't run the A/C!
Great to get home to our moderately cool home 28C [emoji1]
Certainly cooler tonight and we have a bit of rain.

I spent Wednesday plastering a room with a large bay window, I reckon I lost half a stone :eusa-doh: on the plus side I was finished by 3pm as it was going off so quickly

I had four teeth out one Tuesday and a partial fitted. No AC in the dentist so the balcony door was open with the people waiting for their tyres in ATS looking up at me!!!! (The teeth were damaged in a motor bike crash over 40 years ago and the then repair wore out recently)
