• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hi

I thought I'd share with you what I get up to in the 'shop. When I was at 'the other place' I was mostly turning but these days it's Laser and cnc work cutting mainly shapes and letters to sell to the craft fraternity. I built my cnc out of MDF about 5 years ago, the bed takes a quarter sheet of mdf and added a small laser cutter to the workshop in September last year basically to test the water before buying a bigger machine in the future.
Anyway enough waffle on with some pictures, the bottom 2 pictures are from a customers order yesterday all 3mm laser birch ply, the split monogram letters normally get mounted in a box frame by whoever buys them

hope you like them

Cheers

Steve

Impressive - I presume those are laser cut rather than cnc though? I am intrigued by the line - you built your own cnc - did you do a thread of it at the time?

I have been idly looking over laser vids on youtube lately but still a bit too expensive for me to take a punt, given the amount of use I would probably have for it! It does look fun though.

Thanks for the comments.

Rod as Steve rightly said I photographed them on the lid of the Laser

Steve, there isn't a cnc build write up as such, if you search my posts on the other site you may find some pics. I'm now sitting on a beach in Somerset, back home tomorrow so if you'd like I'll see if I can put a post together. BTW the pieces above are all laser cut out of 3mm thick laser birch ply

Cheers

Steve

I like those.
Having just finished building a WorkBee cnc kit, details of how you produce stuff would be very helpful for me. [emoji16]
