• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Why does my iPad keep logging me out of WH2

This is not a Forum software issue, I am sure.

nearly every time I login to WH2 on the iPad and reply to a thread as soon as I hit submit I am taken back to the login page. It can take me 3 or 4 attempts to get a reply sent. This is not a timeout issue nor do I have a problem on the iMac.
Software on the iPAd is up-to-date, caches, history etc have been cleared and iPad rebooted.

Any ideas what the cause could be.

If it’s not the website software and not your iPad then perhaps it’s something to do with your internet provider. I only get this problem myself on one particular forum that insists on running ancient software. Even so, I can go weeks sometimes before it logs me out, very perverse.

Might it be worth going through a VPN to see it that helps?

But if the iPad and the iMac are running of the same ISP, Router, Wifi etc and the iMac does not have the problem. It has to be iPad specific but I cannot find out what.

I’ve never looked at how but can you clear TWH2 related cache items from the iPad then try again.

Worth a look. Don’t need to clear all cache, just any cookies/certificates etc that mention TWH2.

On my elderly iphone, safari has a private option - not sure what it is meant to do but I did try it once and that lead to a sign-in password retention problem.

I will try and get a screen shot and add it ( on PC at the moment)

As far as I can see there is no way of removing individual cache items. I have no problem in clearing the whole cache anyway and it doesn’t seem to help.

Im not in private mode Bob. Private just prevents any browsing history from being saved.

I just got logged out trying to send this.

Can you try a different browser?

If it is still a problem then it is likely network related. If all good its a browser problem.

Try going to:

Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data. Then scroll down until you find WH2, swipe left then touch Delete.

Reboot iPad, log into the website and see if that works?

Just out of interest who is your ISP if you don’t mind me asking.
