Xmas Trees

I found a picture on the web (maybe Pinter..) which looked good and doable.

There was some left over crap SA Pine scrap just the right size.

The picture was copied into Powerpoint and then re-sized for 2 different trees.

The base was also re-sized.

Cutting out using a #12 blade was very easy except for one small mishap

Towards the last cut the blade showed sign of getting slightly blunt

Here are the 2 trees cut and glued



The finish was one coat of Wooddoc 5 (going to have to ditch the tin as it is getiing thick!)

Final sanding of 1000 grit

Then the sizing of the hanging ball had to be determined from what balls are in stock.



Final fitting of the balls and also added some LED lights (from China store)

They are currently displayed in the workshop window with the lights on at night.

Looks cool when you walk down the street

I like those Phil.

Hard for me to imagine Christmas during the summer. So much of the traditional Christmas imagery is of winter scenes, predominately snowy, must be weird when you are in shorts and a tea shirt.

The hot summer Xmas is what we grow up with.
We would either braai and cold salads or total cold lunch, or Xmas eve the full monty dinner and then just snack Xmas day

I used the picture, but I ran it through Inkscape to convert it to a path.
sneaky but useful as I can now use the vector file for my vinyl cutter if I want to make a card stacked version.

That is so way beyond my comprehension .............

I just haul out my small drawing board if needed - will post that one as soon as I have fitted the lights.
