• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. Old bandsaw identity?

Hi folks, out at my mates crank up today and he's just took in this bandsaw with no identification on it.
Something I haven't seen before is the arrangement for supporting the upper wheel which wraps around and connects both sides of it.

It looks very similar to this offering from C.D. Monninger, which is also left-hand drive and appears to also have that upper wheel arrangement if you look closely, it even has the hole in the main spine of the casting in the same place on your friend's machine. I'm not convinced C.D. Monninger themselves made the machines they advertised but instead bought them in from another manufacturer and badged them under their own name with brass plaques, so the lack of any identification marks on this machine may align with that.

Well done mate, I do believe we have a likely candidate. Thank you.
I was quizzing as to what the wingnuts were for on the top assembly and this shows them holding the guard on.
He has more bits that were removed for transport, I hope those guards are with it.

It isn't too difficult to make new guards for theese old saws. I did it for mine.

Generally theese old saws with cast iron frames are top quality. If you want an equal new bandsaw today you must at least buy a Meber or a Northfield. None of them are cheap.
