• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Yes, I get that. I often cut to width early though as I've had quite a few boards with bows. Cutting them in half lengthways means you...

It's finished! Well sort of. It's finished in the sense there are no major jobs (that I can think of) left to do, but it isn't...

That wasn't the home-made lathe: metal mangling is strictly a job for the Harrison M250. Thankfully, it's not a garage I have to use...

Before cutting the housings, I first made a block from an offcut at half the height of the material to use as a gauge. To create the...

I'd never thought of clamping bits of scrap to the two boards to stop the cut piece from dropping - that's a great idea.

The faces for the jambs and mullion required 1.3 m long rips. Marked the length and ends using square and pencil, sliding along the...

With just enough room for a collapsable bench and a portable tool box eh? :)

Now if only I had some metalworking tools that could be used to make my own 😉

+1 to what Mike said. I'd love to have a remote little spot with a small cabin to go & get away from the world for a bit.
