• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I have been such a bloody fool

From others I know of, symptoms seem much milder in those who have been jabbed than those that have not. We have both had it but a few days of feeling cr4p and no lasting problems thankfully despite us both being classed as vulnerable.

Sorry to hear this Roger. Have you both had all your jabs and boosters?

    Essential kitchen tools - 2024

A quick google suggest this is an EU regulation and relates to single use bottles under 3 litres IN THE EU. Not seen cap attachment on milk bottles here either.

    Essential kitchen tools - 2024

Thank you. Not aware of this regulation. The mineral water and lemonade we buy does not have these (yet). Veg oil have had then for ages but don’t cause me any frustration.

    Good value hinges sought

I missed those when looking at screwfix as they have them listed under "Door Hinges". I think I'm sorted now but(t) I might pick up a pair on my next visit to assess the quality for future reference.

    Good value hinges sought

Thanks Pete. I looked at those earlier. The knuckles seemed a bit roughly hewn in the photos which put me off. Fingers crossed for the ones above that I've ordered.

    Good value hinges sought

Looking for suggestions for 25-30mm ish solid drawn brass hinges. I'm not in in the Brusso/smart hinge region of the market but looking for something better than brassed steel with randomly positioned holes a la BnQ. Knowing that the hinge dimensions will dictate the box thickness, I want to buy...

    Bread; makers, people or mechanical?

Bread machine will cost less to run if that is of significance and i see no reason why you could not decant dough mixed in your mixer into one. If you intend to make several loaves in a batch then the oven wins on running costs We have had a Panasonic for years used weekly and still runs...

There's a moose loose aboot this hoose

I’ve closed all the ones found so far but it is an old house with suspended floors. Sod’s law! Now I have the camera set up and trap primed, the mouse has not been detected.

There's a moose loose aboot this hoose

Now with a new camera installed we have evidence that the mouse is still around. activity ends after about 40 seconds. Clearly the mouse is suspicious of the metal plate and maybe the bait ( biscuit crumbs) are not appealing enough. I'll try changing the bait tonight.

There's a moose loose aboot this hoose

I don't whether to be pleased or frustrated! Two nights with the all electric mousetrap primed for the kill and not a sign of a mouse! Maybe the 300g of bait scoffed over the weekend has bumped them off? but considering the night after the bait episode they ate a biscuit I left out as a test and...

    Can I get a miniture turntable ?

By using the output shaft running on the underside of the turntable, a useful speed reduction can be achieved.
