• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

...that is looking for a new home for beer money ?

I need one to recover the firmware on a couple of Zen 7530 routers. Spec is immaterial.

How many old PCs would you like?

I probably have 4 or 5 taking up space, are all in some sort of tower case with VGA graphics ports.

Hi Dave. Thank you for the offer. I’m guessing though that getting one from you to me is challenging. Plus I don’t have a screen etc etc. I think the laptop route is the way to go.

Hi Roger
I don't have a spare laptop but here's one in Hexham for £25 which might be worth a punt. You could likely get your money back if you sell it on later.

Just thinking, it's also possible to hire short term. A very quick google showed this one in Newcastle

Mother inlaw had one that I got her, she used it for writing code when designing games. Well no I jest, she used it for ebay. I think its only a chromebook. Would that suffice?

Thanks for the suggestion, Lons. The description speaks volumes though...

Battery not holding charge and power lead connection is a bit loose....I don't mind battery not holding charge but if that power lead is intermittent then that's a whole world of pain.

Thank you for the offer, Wallace, but a quick Google suggests that it won't run Windows stuff without a lot of faffing about...which I would have to learn.

I'll ask around my mates Roger failing that you'll just have to have a trip over here.
If that one is just a loose connection they aren't usually difficult to fix

Thanks everyone.

Zen and AVM have issued an updated set of firmware which is supposed to fix the issue and early reports suggest that it has. So I no longer need a laptop.

Have to say that Zen have been remarkably generous for all the faffing about re intermittent and troublesome connections and given me £200 compensation and a better router.

Makes you think that question. I've got 2 laptops and two towers in the attic. Cant think why I'm keeping them, the oldest go back to the 20th century (win98). Nostalgia perhaps ?
I only got rid of the Dragon32 a couple of years ago 🙂
