• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

We took down the Christmas trimmings yesterday and put the house back to normal. Today it will be the outside lights.
All before 12th night (Jan 6th) but according to a TV programme there is no rush as the traditional/historical Christmas period was from 11th November until 1st February- those were the days!! [emoji2]

Here the shops start on 1st October already with all the decorations and Xmas specials.

Then, by 3rd January it all disappears into boxes or ditched (get new ones for 2015)

Now the shops are full of summer sales and back to school. And when that ends they start on Easter!

All one very big, huge, massive marketing rip off! And we just fall for it year after year.

Ours all came down on the 12th night, though we were away from the 19th-27th so didn't really go overboard anyway, just a fake tree (no 16footer this year, couldn't justify the expense to hardly make use of it), cards up and some stuff the kids made and wanted up.

Took the kids to DisneyLand Paris on the 19th for 4 days, was absolutely brilliant! And I met a childhood hero…

Our decs are still up cos of the wife's birthday today. House always looks bare when they come down.

For the first time we were able to hang our own mistletoe as we have a couple of clumps growing in a willow tree.
