• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I am having problems with the so called smart phone again.

The missus wants to be able to view our iCal calenders at work. I had thought about doing this using iCloud but that would been having the iCloud app for windows on her work laptop which is a no no.

so I tried to get iCal to synch with the Google calenders on the phone. No joy. All the instructions I read
refer to a Server Options Box in iCal preferences but I have not got Server Options.
eg here http://smallbusiness.chron.com/synchron ... 31913.html

Any ideas?

I think the other solution is to use an iCloud app on the phone. Any suggestions or recommendations?

You set up a calendar linked to a gmail account. That will do it. iCal plays very nicely with gmail calendars.

Thanks Roger, I tried for a couple of hours the other night to get this to work without success.
I've set up a google account and calender on the phone
All the instructions I found on line (eg see above) state :-
Step 7
Add the following address to the Server Options box, replacing “you@gmail.com” with your Google account’s email address:
https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/you@gmail.com/user

I ain't got a Server Options Box in my iCal preferences.

I am still on OSX 10.9.5 btw. Could this be the problem. I hope not.

I only want one way traffic, ie our master calender is on the iMac, so long as she can view on the Android.

AntiTHANKScipation

I need to play around a bit tomorrow, Andy. I can't remember how or why it happened TBH.

Well I'm not sure about that article. I certainly didn't have to fuss about with steps 7, 8 etc.

In iCal I created a Google Calendar which is tied to my gmail account. I didn't need to bother with Delegation. I made sure the account was enabled (all of this is done in iCal preferences as I'm sure you know) and set a fast refresh rate so I could see what was happening quicker.

Then I loaded up Google Calendar on my Android smartphone and tied that to my gmail account.

Went into iCal (the Google calendar one) and created a Test event and before I could blink it appeared on my Android phone.

Hope that helps. I am on 10.9.5 like you.

Roger after plenty of :eusa-doh: and a  moment. I think I have it..But first I must load all my existing appointments in my Home calendar into the Google Calendar in iCal.

I'll see later if I can sort out how.
