• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I’ve had tennis elbow for a while and I’ve had some ongoing treatment and it’s healing slowly but handling an iPad Pro 10.5” wasn’t helping so I’ve treated myself to an iPad Mini. It’s much easier to handle and the reduction in screen size is no bother as I have to wear glasses anyway. It lasts ages on a charge like my larger iPad but seems to charge up quicker. I’m also finding the smaller virtual keyboard easier to use. Only downside I can see so far is that it only has two speakers compared to his bigger mates four! All in all though it’s a nice little tablet.

I prefer my fruit based products to live in a bowl. :)

FIL has a mini, he loves it, MIL has the fullsize, she loves that, our house is all android though, so not about to change devices now.

It's funny but I've got a tablet sitting around somewhere or other as I never use it. Horses for courses, I guess. I prefer sitting in front of my Mac with a proper keyboard and mouse.

I’ve not had a computer since 2013 when I got my first iPad, I’ve just bought a new 2020 10.5 for just over £400 which I think is fantastic value for what it does & the time they last.
I was amazed with this new one I just had to hold the new one over the old for a few seconds whilst it recognised a display after which I sat the old one next to the new & it transferred all the data from one to the other in minutes, completely installed & ready to use.
I really can’t imagine going back to a computer.

I bought my first iPad about 8 years ago and the poor old iMac hardly got any use since then. Still a few odd jobs for it but it’s mostly done on an iPad these days. It took my wife about a year to catch on. It took some friends much longer but eventually a mate said he didn’t get the whole tablet thing but he does now.

I love my mini. It's come into its own since lockdown because I can continue my piano lessons by Zoom. I just clamp it to a camera tripod over the keyboard and my teacher can see what I'm up to. My home is a darned sight warmer than hers too! I'm currently learning 'Moon River' and 'Walking In The Air' (in case anyone's interested).

I entered a photo taken with my mini into a competition earlier this year and although it didn't win, the judge couldn't believe it had been taken with a tablet and not a DSLR.

I moved everything away from Apple except my MBP, and even that's 2013, i wont replace it as the new ones seem to have gone downhill. I do still have an ipad though, mounted to the wall in the garage and plugged into and amp for a radio.

It's a pity old iPads can't easily be rescued when Apple stops providing software updates in the same way that old PCs can be converted from Windows to Linux. I know it's possible to 'brick' them but that seems so technical and I'm worried about what I'll end up with. So long as I can still access Times radio and YouTube through the web browser, that's all I really need my old tablet to do.

Will be perfectly fine, i still have an original iphone from 2007 that works :)

I’ve got a midi bought several years ago in the USA. It’s reached the level of max upgrades but it still works fine.
I use my iPhone 7plus most of the time including this forum via Tapatalk
I use my iMac for video editing etc.

I have an iPod classic bought in 2001 that is still used daily. Admittedly, the battery is on its last legs but that doesn't matter because it's in a docking station most of the time. I do prefer having audio files on a device rather than having to stream them.
