• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. I purchased this machine few months ago, refurbed it, all good apart from initial high currant draw when switched on ramping up to speed anyway I only really used it properley the weekend and noticed slight strange smell & one of the capacitors was hot the other warm. I do not think there correct for the machine I have the manual but it only mentions the part number 98 008 from a drawing showing only one unit, both of mine are wired in parallel 2 x 25 micro farad so 50 micro farad total which to me seems low for a 1.8KW motor i suppose i can do the calcs but it would be nice to find out what it was supplied with
If anyone has one and are kind enough to look and let me know i'd very much appreciate it.

Two 25uF capacitors are common on the Kity 1.5kw motors. If I had to guess they're probably beginning to degrade and need replacing.
 
If thats the case then i will go with the two then, i suppose its the manual that threw me showing only one item.

I have a Kity 629 Spindle moulder, not checked the motor or ancillaries but if you still need to know I will.

I have used it many times in the past to mould window sections and door sections, it's 2Hp motor is a real work horse. I have the sliding carriage with mine which has been very good for moulding cabinet doors and for door panel production. The small footprint means it can easily fit in a small workshop. For a small pro or DIY workshop they are brilliant.
 
I have now ordered two new capacitors as one of mine was shot and other equal age, happy with trevanions knowlwedge. By all means if you are near your machine perhaps open the door and have a glance upward and directly in front of you will be the capacitors, two of them and white in colour unless of course they have been changed.
I am hoping they will here tomorrow so i will update then.
 
Hope you get sorted. I used to have one...cracking machine. Also added a switch to reverse the cutter direction for that odd time when it's needed.
