• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Meet up at David Stanley's this Wednesday 26 June?

It would be great to meet up but I really don't need any more tools...maybe some more planes though, at a pinch:giggle: - Rob
I don't expect I'll see anything I need either, it's more an excuse for a congenial natter :)

But Rob, what sort of plane would you like? ;)

That's a difficult one Andy, but as one who's been descending rapidly (and has been for some decades) down the 'Slippery Slope' I'll know what I 'need' when I see it:ROFLMAO: - Rob

The last plane that I bought was from WH when we visited Matt in 2022 on the way back from Whitby. He happened to have some bronze Clifton block planes in stock so SWIMBO treated me to one; it's now a confirmed 'go to' user though I keep the LN block sharpened with a square blade for use with small pieces on the shooting board - Rob

If only stuff happened closer to home now and then........

So, that didn't go as planned....
Had hospital appointment Monday with instant referral for another appointment this morning.
I got to Stanley's about 1pm and the obvious disappointment of not seeing me had sent everyone home early :ROFLMAO:
Hopefully the attendees had a good morning out ferreting about and chatting.
Next time.
Cheers, Andy

Sorry for your troubles Andy, you were indeed missed by many. I left about five minutes before you arrived.:(
And just look at those dealer stalls, full of tempting treasure, but without enough customers!

I didn't come away empty handed. This was my star buy, for less than I expected:

Thanks for the pictures Andy, glad to see you got a little momento.
I only stood out there talking to Tim for a short while before making a retreat to the shade...
