In an extremely rare set of circumstances, I was forced to resort to a hand plane today (quick, smelling salts to Mike G's house asap  )
I had glued a few oak pieces together to make a panel and didnt line them up all that well. Once set, each plank was above or below the next by a mm or two.
Far too much to remove with sanding, and the panel was too wide to go through the thicknesser.
I struggle with planes because of arthritis in the hands and it was not going well, until in frustration I tried PULLING the plan rather than pushing it.
It was MUCH easier!!!!
I did more planing today than in the last 6 years, all because I was pulling it.
Have I invented a new technique? or have the Japs been doing it for a thousand years?
