I’ve recently had Covid which has left me with some breathing issues and am going to purchase a powered respirator, I’ve got by using GVS ellipse mask but I need better protection.
I’ve had a decorator in a Client’s house this week repairing a water damaged ceiling which has involved a fair amount of filling, it has become very obvious that I can’t be anywhere near this amount of dust even masked up. I predominantly do project management of house refurbishment which means I’m constantly in very dusty environments.
I’ve had a look at quite a lot of powered respirators but think I prefer the 3m versaflo tr315 closely followed by the jsp infinity.
I’m after any reviews or recommendations from the collective.
 
I've had two powered respirators, both have done their job well.
The first was a belt-carried-battery powered one with a flip-up visor (what a lot of hyphens in one sentence...).
The flip-up top was excellent, the belt battery was a pain.

I then had - and still have - a JSP Powerlite. It's no longer available, but there must be an equivalent, more recent model. The battery is in the baseball hat. It has an acceptable noise level, is light and comfortable. The visor does not flip up-, so you have to to take it off if you need to see more clearly. Filter replacement is easy.

It's a good piece of kit, but I do wish they would make it so that the sweat band could be removed and washed. Like with all hats, the sweatband is named for a reason.

With all the ones I have seen, the foam seal around the chin wears with use, because we are stubbly, hairy, abrasive geezers.
 
I have a 3M hard shell unit and a JSP soft cap unit. The 3M has better filtration but is top heavy and less comfortable compared with the JSP (Axi do a variant as well). For very fine dust risk jobs I would choose the 3M but for every day normal use the JSP is a lot more comfortable. Get a spare battery.
 
If this is in a work environment then your employer should be resolving this.
Whatever you decide on will need to be suitable with correct certification.
 
I have used the 3m versiflo with hard hat/flip up face shield for years now. Very pleased with it. They can be had for a couple of hundred second hand now, their over a grand new. A spare battery is essential.
I just upgraded to the 600 range so I can use better filters. That unit is much heavier but the batteries last along time.

I think the one Rob linked to is only P2 protection, I dont know what protection your aiming for, the versaflo are P3

Lots of info to think about, I need to work for another 12 years before I can start to think about retirement ( which I know will never happen ) and need to protect my health.

I am self employed so its me who’ll be paying out and I won’t be looking to save a few quid, I will definitely get a known brand with certification.
 
Arco.co.uk do a wide range of powere3d respirators.
Go along to your local store and try on a variety of them. In my experience the staff are helpful and will get in any models not in stock - and may be prepared to discuss price.

Quick update
I have purchased a 3m TR 619 versaflo set up, it’s extremely comfortable to wear and I’m very pleased with it.
