• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. The road running by our gate is being planed and resurfaced over two days shortly. I was wondering about trying to get them to tip the planings on our drive and run their roller over them. For a cash consideration, obviously !.

Just wondering how viable this is from a practical standpoint? Can this stuff be rolled cold and give a reasonably finish?

Any ideas on how much to offer in spondoolicks ?

Yes planings are often reused cold and even remixed with additional stuff to reconstitute a new Bitmac.
Depends how worn and how much Bitumen is left in the planings as to how well they will roll down. You might finish up with a slightly loose surface but I'm sure the Contractors will advise.
The Contractor might be glad to get rid of them but then again he might have another job for them - then price accordingly.
Small 4 man gang just tipping and rolling say £20 - 30 for a drink? If you have to "buy" the stuff then a fair bit more?

Worth a try. It's not like they weigh what they take off a road and make sure they remove the right amount. They may even dump in a line along your driveway, making spreading easier if they don't want to roll it out for you.
