• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Safari PITA

Of late, Safari has started to become a right PITA. Random sites will pop up a warning saying that Java is not enabled (it is) and so refusing to progress any further with what you're trying to do. Anyone else get this ?

Seriously thinking of binning it. Chrome is a resource hog and so may have to go back to Firefox.
 
I've used Safari so long now I'd struggle to name any others that have not been mentioned above & have not had any trouble previously or now, you sure it's not something your end Roger?

No idea, Doug. I do have a check list to run through but need to find a site that refuses to run 100%. Most sites seem to work fine and then up pops the 'no Java'. If you go back again then often it goes through OK.

I'm not happy with safari either because it is refusing to release memory when browser tabs are closed and also Safari webcontent keeps running an 'instance' even after the tab has been closed.
 
Oh jeez...this is doing my head in. I've got to reload all my login details if I continue to use FF. The font size seems to be all over the place. UKW is unreadable. Think I may have to go back to Safari :(
 
Sounds like you are having a day like mine Roger. 2 cups of tea already and things are no better.

And we think we're having a bad day?

As if digging up 800+ plants was not enough, SWMBO had to drive down to sort out her elderly mother who had spent the night in the bath as she couldn't get out, police called in the morning to break in, sorting out locksmiths, carers and still ongoing.....

then it looks as if she's off to the dentist this afternoon to have a tooth out...infected jaw/cheek but two/three courses of different antibiotics haven't cured it plus nasty side-effects to boot from the antibiotics. But x-rays show no infection in the twice root-filled tooth...a legacy being something left floating up inside her jaw courtesy of bungling incompetent dentists many,many years ago. No guarantee that extraction will sort the problem. But there is a guarantee of expensive and very time-consuming bridgework between now and a certain date.

And I'm worried about a browser :o
