• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

That time of the year already

Will be lucky to get into double figures here over the weekend but even more chilly with a bit of a draft up the kilt further north. ;)

We have -5̊C forecast for Saturday night on my hillside. But gets warmer again afterwards. I dare say we will survive.

Might have to switch from t-shirts to polo-necks. Nae, it’s only October.

I'm still in shorts and t-shirt, and that won't change regardless of the outdoor temp! Unless I'm going into the office, or dressing up to go out, that's all I ever wear!

I'd like to dispute that accusation, but sadly...

Genuinely though, Coivd has destroyed my trouser wearing ability nad I'm not sure I'll ever get it back! The summer was so glorious, working from home, sat in the garden in shorts, walking, in shorts... Soon as we were allowed back out into the world the first time I put a pair of jeans on my legs rebelled and refused to feel comfort!

I've been in shorts ever since, even getting funny looks when going to the local shop, in my big coat, but shorts and trainers/flip flops! Years of football, my legs don't feel the cold!

First light frost of the year this morning here in Pennsylvania, I was out first thing getting the pool ready for closure and a band of sunlight was causing steam to rise where it shone through the trees, definitely no shorts thank you!

Quite normal to me.

Ian you will toughen up over time.;)

First of the season. Fret not, the rain and mild air's back in Wales tomorrow, apparently.

Mild air....you'll be able to take that motorbike back outside then :)
Apparently it's in for the winter :-) It's a lovely bike, but the engine blew on track Saturday so it's in for a rebuild in the warm. Since my daughter left for university, the house does seem to be becoming an extension of the workshop. Which I rather like tbh, one of the few benefits of not having another half!
It was lovely lighting the fire again, need to get the chimney swept soon tho.

Motorbikes in the house are to be encouraged.

We put the central heating on for the first time yesterday. Was very nice. Overnight we have had a biblical amount of rain and now have water coming in around the larder door. Not good and I can't see the path it is taking. Wanted to put the hives to bed for the winter today, but no chance with it still raining hard. Most of our trees are still very green, so nature clearly doesn't think autumn has arrived. If it was warmer it would be tropical.
