The magic tool fairy has struck again

Son (24) has been here for 2 weeks and has just left to go to the Nurburgring. We've done a lot of car fettling. My tool stock always seems to suffer on these visits....

Missing in action this time (ie dead to me now):

Rubber mallet
Wooden mallet
3lb ball pein hammer that was my dad's
Copper head hammer (likewise)
Set of six mole grips in case
Spare (but still used) map gas torch
Articulated Britool socket wrench set (given to me by my brother)
Set of good half round spanners
Vacuum pump

He returned a big Britool lever type torque wrench for me to get fixed

Plus he's made off with a set of Kitchen Aid pans that he has long coveted, two Japanese knives, 5000 grit Naniwa and some of my best wine. Last time I saw him he was not drinking wine and has suddenly found the taste ffs.

Those of you who have daughters probably have an easier life!

Judging by the types of tools wrecked it really was a bash and thump type repair!
My son is pretty much the same but with my woodworking equipment, he has always had free reign of the workshop- competent and trained by me, but since he moved into his present house things have been disappearing lol, if I can’t find something a quick phone call and it’s located and luckily 10mins away. Ian

I do have gremlins or tool fairies that never seem to put tools back whee they belong, but I suspect that is more likely onset of senility than any family member.

In the intervening years Rob I have lost at least one more. Cars were washed last weekend and I found 3 leathers.

On the odd occasion they do make it here I follow them round just in case and frisk them when they leave.

ha! my 14 yr old daughter wanted a new watch, she's was thinking Tudor and I was thinking Casio, we settled on a Seiko 5.

Agreed, she has her eye on some of our watches and they will be passed over when it's time, she's allowed to wear one when we go out, but not to school, hence the seiko

The only way No.1 son will get his mitts on my Rolex Sub (worth a fortune now) is when I'm pushing up the daisies :lol: He drives an Omega 'Seamaster' at the moment having had his Tag lifted from his sports bag outside the squash court (don't even ask :lol: ) - Rob
