• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

We are nothing if not consistent up here

Having decided that we would skip Summer, we've decided to also skip Autumn for consistency and go straight into Winter.

Looking on the bright side, Spring will be here next week20240913_075359.jpg20240913_075414.jpg

Did you first drive the car out of the garage for that shot?:)

Heard a weatherman say this morning earliest frost in England for xxx years. So much for global warming eh?;):)

We had a very heavy ground frost this morning which disappeared in front of my eyes as the sun came up. High pressure coming next week though

Hard frost halfway up a hill in the Scottish Borders.

End of growing season. Yield – 16 broad beans (not pods, individual beans. We gave them names). About a dozen courgettes. Rhubarb. Plums/bullaces. More apples than you can shake a stick at. Two morello cherries. Enough black and red currants to keep us in liquors for the next year. About a kilo of gooseberries.

None of my south east Asian plants, lovingly curated though they were.

Apparently God loves a trier.

We were hovering around zero. The steps to my office had a very slight frost. Time to clean the woodburner this weekend! Although next week is supposed to be warmer.

Global warming isn't a thing mate, they changed that years ago to 'climate change' to cover these kind of crazy variances. ;)

Yesterday started with a bit of a dew first thing but soon warmed in the sun. I sat out in the garden to have lunch!
Lots of solar input and the store got up to 99C mainly as I’d prematurely switched over to autumn configuration. Oops!
Back to summer settings now having looked at the forecast.
