• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

2 lessons learned today.

I had to go for an injection into my knee this morning and lesson 1 is never again to be distracted by or believe a rather attractive Norwegan lady when with a smile on her face she shoves in the needle and says "this won't hurt a bit".😫

Second is that I'm completely useless shopping which is a major pet hate and in which I have zero interest.
As I was parked near a supermarket by the hospital and we needed some fruit and milk I reluctantly sidled in and got out again as fast as possible. Milk, rasberries, blueberries, bananas etc. all successfully in the basket and oh maybe a melon. These were among them, looked interesting so feeling chuffed I paid and went home.
That's not a bloody melon says my missus almost falling over laughing, it's more like a grapefuit. WTF, how the hell am I supposed to know that? Anyway it's only the "n" missing to read melon. :ROFLMAO:

Accidental but if that means I'm banned from shopping it's a win as far as I'm concerned. 👍

Was it a steroid injection Bob? I had one a few years ago & the guy spent quite a while with the closed end of a ballpoint pen prodding my knee until he found the exact spot he wanted to insert the needle.
The injection was painless so I’m wondering now if what I perceived as his faffing about was in fact a job well done

As for shopping thankfully I’m not asked to do that, even when incapacitated the GLW would rather shop via the internet than ask me to go🙏

When I had my thumb steroid injection, the consultant also had a good wiggle and prod around. But even then he warned that it ‘might hurt a bit’. It did but Stoic is my middle name, so much so that he complimented me 😀

As for shopping I do the grocery shop and don’t mind it one little bit.

Combine with picking up stuff from Toolstation (Screwfix now boycotted because of their pointless new sign on system via an email token being sent……’for your security’……rowlocks…soon proved that one was a CoS and they haven’t got a clue about IT security)….I digress. Toasted ham and cheese with a double espresso. Challenge is to do it all in under 30 minutes and below £xxx.

LOML is very understanding if I don’t get everything. And I get Brownie points.

So have you been enlightened as to what sort of thing it is Lons?
Yes my wife was right Ian if you google Pomelo yhere's a lot of info. We have yet to try it but I'm sure it will be ok, otherwise I've wasted a quid. :ROFLMAO:Unless the dog will eat it, she doesn't turn her nose up at much.

Yes a steroid. I had one in my other knee 4 weeks ago and wanted her to do both at the same time but she wouldn't. The other one didn't hurt at all but this knee has been very painful for the last couple of weeks and it's exactly the same med so that's probably the reason I felt it. I didn't cry of course, not in front of a beautiful woman, the crying came later. :ROFLMAO:
It seems as if it's working as I slept better last night and it's more comfortable this morning.

I had 2 cortisone injections into the toe joints on left foot.
All feeling first killed with some other stuff injected.
Was painful when that wore off.

Be careful with those. One of my son's course-mates at Uni caused a bomb scare by leaving an unattended pomello on a desk at the front of the lecture theatre !

Same here and for me it's whip round Tesco, the new Lidl (50m from Waitrose) and then into WR itself for the 'nice to haves' (organic marmalade, fish on Friday etc) SWIMBO gets a lift into the hospital every Friday, so she gets dropped of at 7am, I then do the shopping in virtually empty shops (utter bliss) and am back home by 8.30am for brekki. There's absolutely no way on God's green Earth that I'd go round the supermarcardos at any other time other than stupid early o'clock. I don't think SWIMBO's seen the inside of one for at least a decade, if not longer - Rob

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Mine has already left this morning to do exactly that.
Mine hasn't driven for over a year. Lanes are too narrow

You wouldn't get me buying their 'fresh' fish in a month of Sundays. Certainly not from our branch 'cos you can smell the fish counter half way down the shop. As it happens, I was asking one of the staff where Kefalonian sea bass had gone to (alas yet another top product they've stopped at our branch) and she didn't know. George, the grumpy Greek, who runs the fish and meat counter came round to see what the problem was. When I told him we were looking for the Kefalonian sea bass, he said 'Why don't you buy it from my counter?' I nearly told him why not but then thought better of it since he can make Krakatoa look like a tiny Roman candle in comparison. :ROFLMAO:

The reverse is true as far as I'm concerned for the fish counter in WR Salisbury. There is no smell whatsoever and all the fresh fish I've bought from them has been universally excellent. The boss man Tim behind the counter knows exactly what I want and usually has a chunk of fish lined up for me - Rob
