• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

A chair from one piece of wood

Wow, that's incredible!
Also very refreshing to see a youtube woodworking video that isn't an American in a giant workshop doing everything on a huge table saw. (not that there's a problem with those, just it's a saturated market)

Those infuriatingly clever Oriental Gentlemen do love to do impossible things with wood! Double ended sawing around curves through 12”? Of wood, what could possibly go wrong lol.
I wonder what was in the wax mix that he used? Possibly a bit of carnauba?

Nice.

I'd say it's an interesting variation of the folding bookstand Roy Underhill demonstrates here

He traces the design to Roubo in 18th century France. I've also seen a recent video of workers in Pakistan turning out hundreds of them, decorated with fretwork and carving.

The Chinese one does seem to be a very good match for the particular designs of frame saws, with some admirable skill too.

When I read the title I thought I was going to see a variant of this. Which I have seen being made with just one tool, a chain saw.
Not nearly as elegant mind:)
