• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

A bit of a heads up on energy pricing.

Just been looking around the market and see there are starting to be a few competitive looking tariffs on offer again after a period of a year or so with no effective competition.
If you are on a variable tariff now, then it could be worth fixing as forecast prices go up 12% on 1st Oct
If like me, you are on a fix with an exit penalty and coming to its end in less than 50 days you are entitled to switch now without penalty.
Some companies have now dropped the exit fees meaning that if you fix and then next year the prices drop you can get out without penalty
Leaving things till nearer October, will almost certainly see rises in the fixed price offers from the current rates.

Thanks Bob
I've been holding out for a few months waiting for prices to settle before fixing again so will look in earnest over the next couple of weeks.

Always seem to go up for the winter months and fall back in April.
Uk pricing is very complex with daily charges being used for more than the cost of running the network. LX price is based on gas generation costs even when majority of power is coming from cheaper sources. Needs a good shake up really
