• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I'm in the good books for now.

Given your homestead, I was expecting at least a 10' live tree. Very disappointing. :)

:) I use to do a real one, quite a mess when it dries out. And oh, the cats used to urinate or spray on the real one.:(

You've got it all wrong, Duke. The man's role is to get the tree into position and secure it safely. Others get to dangle baubles on it, and so on. You might have to come and sort the lights out when they don't work.......but that's the extent of male input. There's rules, you know! ;)

Good to know thatI am not alone.

Exactly so. I 'build' the tree and check the lights are working. Then retire gracefully. Besides, my missus does a much better job than I could ever do.

The problem is Jenny doesn't have the patience nor artistic talent! At least I don't have a man bun. :)

Ok, you tough guys let us see your trees!

This was our work in progress yesterday afternoon (15th). Eventually the young lady on the left got on the ladder and sorted out the thing on the top and added about 100 more baubles. She is chief decorator. There are 27 metres of lights apparently. The ceiling height is about 12ft I think and the lesson learned is to put the top thing on before erecting the tree next year. Tree is real and is actually the top of a much bigger tree (which I didn't know is a thing). Photo doesn't do justice to her work actually. My fault.

Must have missed it.

This probably sums up why I am not allowed to decorate the tree
I think Papa Smurf looks very christmassy but the design authorities ( there are 4 in this house ) have other ideas. It will be removed, again, as soon as they notice.

I did make the creche, probably 20 years ago now. One day I will finish painting it.
