• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hi Everyone. Ive been a member of another Forum for a number of years and been retired for 7 years. I really enjoy building furniture mainly for family now that I have some more time on my hands.
 
Welcome aboard. Whereabouts in Oz are you? I've lived in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney. My brothers still live in Perth. When you get past the 3 post (anti-spam) mark we'd love to see some photos of your work. Some of the Aussie timbers are really beautiful.

I spent 7 weeks touring Australia back in 2010. It's big! Need to go back sometime and see some more.

We've had 3 extended touring holidays there and loved it, just talking at the weekend that we might go back for another trip. My brother lives on the outskirts of Sidney.

Hi Mike, For the last 24 years I have lived in Gladstone Qld and enjoy the weather. We are lucky as we seem to miss the wild weather of storms cyclone and floods on the east coast. We get mild winters which I we look forward to as most of our life we have been in the full tropics Darwin NT and Nhulunbuy NT. Up in the tropics it was the Humidity which really knocked us as well as temperatures constantly above 30 deg.
 
I've not been north of Brisbane, so don't know Gladstone at all. My brothers have both ridden motorbikes up to the tip of Cape York.
 
We've been up that coastline but not quite as far as Gladstone. Stayed in Noosa a couple of times as a relative owns a house there, empty most of the time as he manages an exclusive holiday resort on one of the islands somewhere.

Perth is our favourite Australian city Mike followed by Sydney, we drove up the coast as far as Monky Mia last trip.
 
We rented a car in Brisbane and drove north to Cairns + Port Douglas. Our 2nd stop which was before Gladstone was Agnes Water and from there onward to Airlie Beach. So I've been near but not actually to Gladstone.
