• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

As suggested, here is the place to post details of woodworking events. I will make this a sticky so is should remain at the top of this forum.
Please give event title, dates, postcode, entry pricing and a weblink for full details.
I suggest we refrain from discussion here but instead start an individual thread for this purpose.
Cheers Bob

Bob, how about making it a locked thread, so that the only posts are updates to the diary. If we want to talk about particular events, we can start a new thread as you suggest.

I suggest contributions go via a mod. "Here is a diary entry , Bob".......in much the way that the members map and wood suppliers maps are maintained.

Mike and Rene are having their first open day of the year on Sunday 30th March 2025. Everyone is welcome.

Opens at 10am - 4pm

Tea and Coffee plus BBQ at lunchtime.

Casual affair with a very pleasant host, hostess, demonstrator's and satisfied customers.
Mike will gladly machine the stock to your requirements if need be.
I hope to be there with a display and a smattering of tools for sale.

The woodworkers are a bit outnumbered for this event but it may be of interest to anyone within striking distance of York.

Should be a nice day for a trip into the countryside.
Unfortunately no show for me on this one but pop along and congratulate Mike and Rene on their recently getting married.

I'm going to make sure I'm there. I might even.................Where's the nearest campsite? :)

If you mean you'll be taking the Teardrop, I predict a sudden surge in the visitor numbers!

Given the forecast between now and then, there's no chance the teardrop will be finished and tested/ certified, so I'll be coming alone. I might find some space for some bog oak in the boot.

Save the date - it's the first Saturday after Easter.
Ideal for a good old natter with like-minded friends.

And there's a very good range of souvenirs!

This Saturday, anyone fancy dropping by for a chat and a bit of cake?
Tool perusal, fondling and buying are all optional ;)
Remember, free entry and parking.
