• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Your favourite listenings......

I heard the original on the radio just now and then remembered watching this local duo performing it.

Anyone else watching Jeff Beck on BBC4. So much stuff I had never heard before.

How about this

And there are snippets of so much more stuff I want to hear the rest of.

If it’s on iPlayer well worth a watch.

I was in my teens when this first c amp out, and it's lost none of its magic over the years and different versions.

Nice choice, Phil. Haven't heard that in a while.

Have you heard it with a brass band?

Gary Moore's son Jack, paying homage to Peter Green.

This young group is IMO stunningly good. Their first LP came out in 2016 to much acclaim and this track is at the end of their latest LP release.

'Let's Eat Grandma' - two lasses and they are only 19 !

Stunning talent.

I've been watching the Bourne series again. Watched Identity last weekend and Supremacy last night - love 'em - superb films. Hopefully, Ultimatum is on next weekend. 8-) I'm yet to see The Bourne Legacy, Jason Bourne and Future.

Always loved the sound track performed by Moby.

We've been watching a new drama on Thursday evenings - Keeping Faith.

The drama is okay, but I especially like the music and this track written & performed by Amy Wadge is stunning - Faith's Song.

Beautifully performed heart felt lyrics.

Stunning video too. 8-)

I really like this collaboration of two young musicians that I've been following doing the Stealers Wheel classic.

I hope my Martin 12 string sounds a sweet as her Gibson when I've finished building it!

I've never been a big fan, but certainly recognise a great artist and performer. 8-)

RIP.

I agree, but I was waiting for the Old Spice guy to come surfing across the stage!! :D

In the past I have been able to listen to all the attachments on my iMac. But now they all come up no video, no sound allowed, only dead silence, even with the volume cranked up.

Any clue as to repair this saga please? Trashing my gear is not a option :?

My God...I'm surprised that the audience stayed awake. His tempo is that glacial. She has a nice voice though.

Well spotted Sir! Although the Old Spice surfy chap is to 'O Fortuna' as you're probably aware anyway because you're a clever ole bugger. :D

I had this playing in the workshop a couple of days ago. The neighbours will probably be glad to see the back of me.

Try a different browser. Which version of OSX and Safari are you using ? I'm getting hacked off with 'nanny' Safari telling me I can't do this and can't do that.

If you are using 'Nanny' then later versions get very fussy about Flash and you need to dig around to allow Flash for that site.

Are you on auto-update ? That would explain why it has suddenly stopped working.

You're just depressed about the winter prospects up there beyond yonder.

No, I agree, the tempo is slightly nondescript with this performance - or maybe nondescript is too strong... urrr, sluggish maybe. I liked her voice and the ambience of the performance, and it's a great song. 8-)

This is one of the saddest moments in opera IMO and the music and singing is superb. Wotan is banishing his daughter to an eternal sleep because she wilfully disobeyed him in an earlier scene.

For the guitar players out there.

Wow, just wow!

I've been doing a bit in the new hobby shop today and I'm almost finished. It's looking great and a real little gem for those chilling out times.

Whilst tinkering around, I kept singing "Love is in the air, everywhere I look around..."

Must be them lovely old tools of mine. 8-)

So let's have it... loud as you like.... turn up the volume and belt it out. 8-)

How about........

......a bit of Disco/Folk fusion!!!

I even went and bought the album. Must be the latent hippy in me. :D

If you like it, check out their version of the Average White Band's 'Pick up the Pieces'.

I seem to be the only one posting at the moment, but hey ho..

I really am just a little too young to remember this theme tune at the time it was on TV, but I picked it up with the Blues Brothers.

There's something about brass music, you can't help but feel it!

Malc, remember the theme very well. Not from TV as we only got TV in 1975 and then only from 18:00 to 22:00. very limited TV in the early days.

Blimey! Sounds like my childhood in the 50s, and we only had one channel! :eusa-violin:

It has taken me a while to catch up with this.

Utterly brilliant. Best Xmas No1 ever, for those of us old enough to remember the original ;)
